Classic

Here is a classic "bad Santa" photo.  A couple of weeks ago, we took Korie to see Santa, and wow, she did NOT like sitting on his lap!  Even though I was sitting right next to her, she screamed bloody murder.  Although, the second we picked her up, she stopped crying and was fine.  What's funny is, she actually loves Santa...she talks about Santa all the time, and even has a Santa app on the iPad that she loves to play.  Go figure!

Big girl!!!

Earlier this week, Korie went pee pee on the potty for the first time!  For a week or two, she has liked to sit on it in the living room with her clothes on, and occasionally we've put her on it without her pants or diaper on.  But on Tuesday night, after her bath, we had her sit on it before getting her pajamas on, and when she stood up, there was a small amount of pee in the potty!  She was pretty proud of herself after we made a big deal about it, and Daddy even gave her some M&Ms as a reward.  Such a big girl!

In other news, Korie will be getting ear tubes.  We saw the ENT specialist yesterday, and he agreed that she should get the tubes.  She has had 6 ear infections in the last 6 months, including one that didn't clear up with antibiotics.  She had a hearing test done at her appointment, and she failed it on one side because of all the fluid left in her ear from the last infection.  So we'd rather be safe than sorry and get the tubes, hopefully avoiding anymore infections in the future and any problems with her hearing.  I know it's a simple procedure, but please keep her in your prayers!

Let's Try This Again

OK, I caved and paid the extra money to upload pictures...it's so much easier!  So, here are some of the pictures from Korie's 18 month photo shoot last month.  As you can tell in some of the pictures, she was pretty crabby so I'm glad we got some good ones!

Korie had her 18 month check up today.  She is strong, smart, and healthy, weighing in at 28 lbs 8 oz (96th percentile) and 34 inches tall (99th percentile), with a head circumference in the 97th percentile.  She's definitely not petite!  :)  Korie is at such a fun age.  She is talking so much now and can say about a zillion words, and most of the time we can understand her.  She loves to run around the house, play, jump (and she jumps so well, she literally gets air when she jumps!), chase Woof, play on the iPad (which she says constantly: "iPad, iPad!"), and interacting with kids and dancing at Kindermusik, which we started again this past week.  And now that the Christmas tree is up, the ornaments don't stay on very long.

At her appointment today, Korie was diagnosed with her 5th ear infection in the last 6 months, so we are setting up an appointment with an ENT specialist to talk ear tubes.  Poor Korie...any time she's around another kid for an extended period of time, she catches a cold which almost always results in an ear infection.  So hopefully, if we decide to do ear tubes, it will be a big improvement!  We'll keep you updated!

Korie's 18 month/Family Pictures

Hi everyone!  Well, apparently I've uploaded so many pictures over the last couple of years that Blogger has informed me I cannot upload any more pictures unless I pay a fee...seriously?!  So I'm going to try something different and see how it works.  I may end up paying just to make it easier, but we'll try this first.

A few weeks ago, we had Korie's 18 month and fall family pictures taken.  Korie was quite crabby that morning (as you can tell from some of the pictures), but luckily we were able to get a few good ones!  Please let me know if you'd like some prints, and I can get some ordered for you.  Enjoy!

On The Go (As Always!)

As always, we've had a busy fall, and it's not slowing down anytime soon!  Seems like every weekend, either we're on the go, or I'm working.  It sure made fall go by so fast...can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving!  We have family get-togethers later this week for Thanksgiving, then we're going to our last football game of the year (ISU vs W Virginia).  Next weekend, we are going to Arizona for my friend Heather's wedding, and when we get back, the holiday season will be in full swing!  Hopefully things slow down after the holidays.

Our house has been on the market for about two and a half months now.  We had NO showings in the first two months, but in the last two weeks, we've had three!  The first two had only positive things to say about the house, but weren't interested (one didn't like the location, the other was looking for more square footage).  But, from the feedback we received, the third showing indicated they are interested!!!  We haven't heard back from them yet, so right now it's just a waiting game...trying not to get my hopes too high in case it doesn't happen!

A couple of weeks ago, Korie got her first haircut!  It was long overdue...her baby mullet was getting out of control.  My friend and hair stylist Pete came over to our house to cut and color my hair, and he also gave Korie her first hair cut.  She did really well!  I gave her my iPhone to play with, and she was so engrossed, she didn't even know Pete was cutting her hair!  She looks so much older now...bye bye mullet!
