Another First!

We have had a lot of "firsts" in the last week or so. First of all, Korie officially has teeth! It seems like she has been teething since she was about 4 months old, but only in the last few weeks had we seen some progress. Her bottom two teeth have been so close to the surface for the last several weeks...you could see and feel them just below the gums. But last week, the officially popped through! They are sooo cute! :) A few days later, one of her top front teeth popped out as well.

Today, Korie clapped for the first time! In the past, she has "sort of" clapped, but not really intentionally. Tonight, we were playing on the floor while Daddy was making dinner, and she started clapping! It was soooo funny! Luckily, Daddy was close by and grabbed the video camera, so it was captured on film.

We have been lucky to have such a mild winter this year. This past weekend, we enjoyed more unseasonably warm weather...it was 50 degrees and sunny on Sunday! So Daddy decided to hang Korie's new baby swing from our swing set in the backyard, and Korie had her first "ride" in her swing! She loved it!

Here's something that isn't a first...after a HUGE victory over Missouri on Saturday, KU clinched our 8th conference championship in a row! We had two very happy Jayhawks in this house! :)

Big Girl Carseat

We've reached yet another milestone: Korie is now in her big girl carseat! Her infant seat can only be used up to 22 lbs, and when we weighed her a few weeks ago, she was 21 lbs. She was getting too tall for it as well, and it was getting quite heavy to carry around! Mommy is kind of sad...I can't believe how quickly she's growing up! And we will miss the convenience of just lifting her out of the car in the seat, especially during these cold winter months. Luckily, spring is just around the corner! Here are a few pictures of the big girl testing out her new seat.

Sneak Peek of Korie's 8 month Photo Session!

Here is a sneak peek at Korie's 8 month pictures with Creative Images by Tammy. Korie was quite crabby that day...she is teething, and didn't have a very good nap. She cried for part of the pictures, and wouldn't smile for the rest of it. Finally, at the very end, she smiled a few times! But luckily, Tammy is a great photographer, and did a great job, as always! Enjoy!

8 Months Old

Can you believe Korie is 8 months old?! My sweet little girl isn't so little anymore. :( It is so fun watching her grow up, change, and learn, but I'm so sad that it's flying by so fast! Pretty soon, I will blink and she'll be a year old, then in kindergarten, then in high school and off to college. In the meantime, we are enjoying every second of her growing up! Korie is such a good, happy baby. She weighs 21 lbs, is rolling and army crawling all over the house, getting up on her hands and knees and rocking (she'll be crawling soon!), babbling constantly, including mama (although I'm not sure she always uses it correctly), clicking her tongue, and is getting ready to cut her two front bottom teeth...they are right at the surface! She loves music, books, chasing Piper, and playing with her toys. She is so tickelish, and she loves to laugh and squeal! Happy 8 Months, precious girl...we love you right up to the moon and back!

Korie's 7th Month

Oops, I've been slacking with posting pictures of Korie this month...sorry! Here are some pictures from Korie's 7 month!

A Day at Livie's

A couple of weeks ago, we took a trip down to Kansas for the weekend. Mommy and Daddy went to the KU vs ISU basketball game, while Korie spent the day at Livia's house. Mommy and Daddy had a great time at the game...it had been several years since Mommy's last trip to Allen Fieldhouse, and it brought back a lot of fun memories from college! Korie was kind of fussy for Uncle Roz and Aunt Lindsay, but apparently Uncle Roz is the Baby Whisperer. He got Korie to calm down and fall asleep, and the only way she would take her bottle is if Uncle Roz gave it to her while sitting in her Bumbo seat. It looks like a baby calf taking a bottle on the farm! :) Korie and Livie had a great time playing together!

Celebrating Mommy & Daddy

Earlier this month, we went out to dinner to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Korie was such a good girl, as always, while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed some yummy sushi!
